The Ohio Green Building and Construction Law Resource is published by David M. Scott and Timothy M. Clayton, both of whom are LEED® Accredited Professionals with specializations in Building Design and Construction (BD+C). David and Tim practice with the law firm Luper Neidenthal & Logan, one of the only law firms in the State of Ohio with two LEED AP attorneys on staff.

David M. Scott applies his experience as a litigator (he is a Million Dollar Advocate, comprised of lawyers who have achieved a verdict or settlement in excess of one million dollars) to help contractors, architects/design professionals, engineers, owners, developers, and suppliers resolve and (ideally) prevent green building & construction disputes. David is among the original members of the U.S. Green Building Council, Central Ohio Chapter and serves on its Board of Directors and its Advocacy Committee.

Timothy M. Clayton passed the LEED Accredited Professional exam while he was studying for the Ohio Bar. His experience in the HVAC business gives Tim a unique perspective on green building issues experienced by heating and air conditioning contractors. Tim practices in the areas of real estate law, commercial litigation, and green building and construction law. He is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Central Ohio Chapter and serves on its Programs Committee.

Contributor Gregory H. Melick brings insights from his extensive experience in environmental law matters including CERCLA, RCRA, wetlands and riparian-rights disputes and litigation. Greg served as Solicitor to the Burlington City, New Jersey, Board of Island Managers (http://www.burlingtonisland.com/), a unique historical body charged with overseeing the oldest educational trust in the United States, formed in 1682. While serving as that Board’s Solicitor in the early 1990’s, Greg was instrumental in negotiating environmental and riparian rights issues with the State of New Jersey, and is credited with revitalizing that Board and its statutory obligation to develop the island for the school children of Burlington City. Greg has also appeared before zoning and planning boards in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and has litigated zoning cases to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
